Fire students earn BLM certification

Students from Franklin Police and Fire High School earned their Basic Wildland Firefighting Certification from the Bureau of Land Management by completing their wildland field day training earlier this spring. The 24 students completed eight weeks of intense classroom and field work to earn their certification. They are now one step closer to becoming employed as firefighters. In past years, a few students have worked the summer fire season for the BLM. A diploma ceremony was held at the school to honor the students for their hard work and accomplishments.
